Ottave Giornate di Studio (English)

Un accesso migliore è possibile …

verso l’integrazione delle risorse informative per l’architettura e l’urbanistica

Better access is possible …

towards the integration of information resources on architecture and planning

VIII giornate di studio del CNBA, Venice, IUAV University

28 – 31 May 2003

More than 10 years have passed since 4. European seminar for architectural librarians and documentalists “Europe 93: Information for Architecture” organized by CNBA and IUAV in Venice on October 1992. In those days main actors in the European architectural and urban planning information scenery had met and faced together. The seminar gave great contribution to the outset of various forms of co-operation between the organizations that had taken part to the meeting.

Since then many things have changed; as a consequence of new challenges and technological innovations, libraries, documentation centres and producers have revised and updated their procedures, their management and their ways of spreading information. This process has been growing faster in the last two years and this trend will continue in the future.

The VIII CNBA Conference will be on an international scale and after ten years the participants will have the opportunity to discuss the present situation as well as focus on future perspectives, making comparisons and dealing with any possible forms of co-operation, in order to evaluate the possibility of integrating different ways of accessing information.
